How Reprixo thinks

The lowest price is not the goal. Margin is.

How Reprixo decides a price, in what order it checks things, and why it never chases the bottom. Everything on this page is what the engine does today on our customers' catalogs, not a promise.

1 · The problem

What an ordinary repricer does, and why it costs you.

A classic repricer has one direction: down. It sees a competitor below you and drops. It sees another one and drops again. It wins you the Buy Box and loses you the margin. And since your competitors run the same tool, the price falls until someone sells at a loss.

Reprixo starts from the opposite question: what is the highest price at which this sale still happens?

2 · Breathing

The two-way rule.

Every product has a floor, your minimum, and a ceiling, your maximum. In between, the price breathes.

↑

When the Buy Box is yours, Reprixo climbs in small steps toward the maximum, one step per cycle. Not a jump: a step, because it wants to find out how far the market holds without losing it.

↓

When you lose it, it drops just enough to win it back, no more. If that was not enough by the next cycle, it widens the step. If you are a hair above the minimum, it lands on the minimum instead of grazing it for three cycles.

↻

When you win it back, it starts climbing again. And if no real rival threatens you, it climbs all the way to the maximum you set.

A real afternoon, taken from the decision log.

One of our customers' products, anonymised. Minimum €14.90, maximum €29.64. One cycle every fifteen minutes.

TimePriceWhat Reprixo sawWhat it did
14:3525.80Buy Box ours, no real rival↑ +0.10
14:5025.40Buy Box lost: a rival at 25.70↓ −0.30 below the Buy Box
15:0525.30Still lost↓ step widened to −0.40
15:2025.20Still lost↓ −0.50
15:3525.10Still lost↓ −0.60
15:5025.20Buy Box won back↑ +0.10

18:0525.50Lost: a rival at 25.80↓ starts over
In four hours the price moved between €25.10 and €26.00: never below the minimum, never a cent given away when it was not needed. A one-way repricer would have dropped to 25.10 at 14:50 and stayed there all afternoon.

The dead band.

If the difference between the current price and the proposed one is below a threshold you choose, in euros or in percent, Reprixo leaves it alone. No three-cent dances that only make noise on Amazon.

3 · Profiling

Rules adapt to who you are up against.

No two sellers are alike, and no two competitors are. Every rule has parameters that describe your real situation.

Fulfilment channel

  • FBA premium. If you are FBA and the rival is FBM, keep a price premium in percent: Prime is worth something, and Reprixo knows it.
  • Safety distance. When climbing, it keeps a distance from the nearest rival that differs depending on whether it is FBA, a slower FBM or an FBM on par.
  • Don't chase an FBA if you are FBM: an option to avoid burning margin in a race the Buy Box will not let you win.
  • Ignore Amazon Retail. When Amazon itself is the seller, chasing it is pointless.

Delivery times

  • Slow rivals don't count. A rival shipping slower than you beyond a threshold of hours is not a competitor: buyers see the delivery date.
  • Only if you are not the slow one. The rule can apply only if you don't ship slower than the Buy Box winner: if you do, cutting the price does not fix the problem.

Rival quality

  • Ratings below your threshold are not competition. If only such rivals remain, Reprixo climbs to the maximum.

Your account health

  • Minimum status. The rule fires only if your Amazon account health is at least the level you set. An account at risk does not need more price pressure.

Time without the Buy Box

  • Apply only after N days without the Buy Box, so a one-hour absence does not trigger anything.
  • Straight to the minimum after N days, when waiting no longer makes sense.

The margin floor

  • Minimum net margin in percent, on top of the minimum in euros: computed on purchase cost, VAT, Amazon fee, shipping, packaging and, if you have one, the agency's share. Not on the list price: on what you actually keep.

Three kinds of rule, for three ways of working.

Automatic

Everything you just read. It is the recommended one, and the one our customers use.

Beat the Buy Box

A fixed amount below the Buy Box, for those who want one simple thing. With the same guardrails.

Manual

Reprixo watches, computes the margin and alerts you, but does not touch the price.

4 · Unsold stock

When dropping is not enough.

If a product does not win the Buy Box even at the minimum, the problem is not the price. Reprixo does not park it at a high price and hope: it flags it, so you decide whether to clear it or delist it. Stock sitting still is capital sitting still.

5 · Speed and transparency

Fast, with the reason written down.

Every fifteen minutes

  • The market is re-read every fifteen minutes across the whole catalog.

Fast lane

  • Products that lose the Buy Box are repriced within minutes, without waiting for the cycle.

Protected mode

  • Before touching a price, Reprixo shows you exactly what it would do, product by product. Switch it on when you trust it.

Decision log

  • Every decision has a written reason: price before, price after, what it saw, which rule it applied. The table above comes from there.
6 · Compared to others

An honest comparison.

Net-margin repricing is included in every Reprixo plan, the free one too. In the most widespread repricer it is the feature of the most expensive tier. And we re-read the market every fifteen minutes, where the closest European competitor gets to one hour on its top plan. And where they are stronger, for instance on marketplaces outside Europe or on multichannel, we say so: Reprixo does one thing, Amazon in Europe.

Try it on your catalog, without touching a price.

Connect your Amazon account, set costs and limits, leave Reprixo in protected mode for a few days. You will see every decision it would have made. Then decide.
